NATURE THERAPY RETREATS

guided FOREST THERAPY

Led by a certified forest therapy guide, we’ll offer forest therapy sessions each day. These sessions can be modified for each person’s needs and will always be optional for the attendee.

Mindful workshops

Using our five senses to guide us, we’ll engage in various meditations and workshops throughout the weekend that connect us to our environment and to our deeper, truer selves.

nature hikes

On our third day, we’ll explore a nearby trail for those wanting to get their body moving in whatever capacity they need.

REFLECTIVE JOURNALING

Time spent journaling helps us reflect on our current state of mind so attendees will have the time and space to journal each day. We’ll provide prompts to get your juices flowing and you’re welcome to share what you’re discovering during our campfire conversations each night.

communal cooking

Cooking together brings us closer and what better place to do it than outside! We’ll provide delicious camping recipes that cater to each person’s diet and we’ll provide cooking and cleanup assignments for each attendee. We want this experience to feel communal and for each attendee to leave the weekend feeling fully equipped to cook on any future camping trips. On our last night, we’ll have Chef Becky Reams lead an interactive cooking workshop that she’ll teach over the campfire.

intentional campfire conversations

After dinner each night, we’ll gather around the campfire for reflective and meaningful conversation. We encourage each attendee to share in these conversations in whatever way they feel comfortable.

affirmation circle

We believe in connection in every form and we want to make sure that each attendee feels seen. On our very last day, we’ll gather to give affirmations to each other to remind us of who we are and how we positively impact the world.

Retreat Testimonials

I left Explore Sanctuary feeling very connected to nature. I learned tangible ways to engage my senses, focus my mind, and get the most out of time spent outdoors.

I knew I wasn’t going to miss this trip. I knew I would fall in love with the outdoors even more, see some epic sunrises, get some great photos, and find peace and solitude. What I didn’t realize was that was just the icing on the cake. Explore Sanctuary had much more in store for us and the mindfulness and meditation exercises were where things got good. Then there were our fireside discussions — I loved to hear the other girls share their stories and perspectives of their strongest loves and their deepest fears. We laughed and we cried. We’re all such unique beings and though all our stories are so different, we can understand, relate, connect and support each other. That is such a powerful feeling. The most difficult part was sharing my own story. I am so private and self-conscious of my own thoughts that I can barely share with myself, let alone others. I found it difficult, but I forced myself to share my most honest thoughts and I’m very glad that I did. I’m very happy these girls and these mountains were there to listen.

Explore Sanctuary was like a reset for my whole brain, body and soul. I don’t spend much time in the outdoors and sometimes find camping overwhelming, but with Kate I was able to experience nature in a new way as we went through different activities using all our senses. Kate is a great guide and cultivates an environment that makes it easy to open up, reflect, and breathe
